More priority levels
Instead of just a star indicating priority and then filtering it into a list, set up more than one priority level. I need to have priority tasks but also need them sorted by high, medium, low, and none. not everything is the same priority. I find myself having to rearrange the tasks on the list all the time.
This is an absolute must! I recommand at a minimum 4 priorities be used to sort accordind to the Eisenhower Matrix:
1 important urgent
2 important not urgent
3 not important but urgent
4 not important not urgent
Human nature tends to work on priorities 1&3 when sucess is achieved by focusing on 1&2. In my opinion, this is your #1 priority for me to upgrade to Pro. This upgrade would put this app on top! Regards
I agree although I would recommend taking it a step farther. I would like to have exact list order control by priority. So, instead of the high, medium, etc approach, I would recommend a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.. 26, 27, 28 method without limit. This way you could literally sort huge lists in the exact order you like without a limit to the number of priority levels. Plus, people who just want high, medium, low sorting can just use 1, 2, 3 to mark each of their entries.
Are you serious? This is very important!!! This is part of the GTD philosophy and you does not have it after all this time! This is the major feature that makes me feel bad using Wunderlist. It is a great tool, but whitout priorities it feels like a basic tool for basic tasks management.
On this point, can you provide differential priority: priority/non-priority (using the star) is too crude. Could we perhaps have 1-5 stars to indicate the level of importance or priority, with the highest sorted automatically to the top of the list?
Otherwise, a great product - thanks guys!
I think it would be great if we could give tasks on the "today" list a priority by NUMBER. I like to number what are the most important tasks, so I can make sure I get them done first. By attending to the tasks according to the priority i've given them, I ensure I don't waste time on tasks which are less urgent (80/20 rule).
Can you add Priority ?

I think it would help a lot if Wunderlist would stop rearranging the order of tasks when it is not necessary. If I sort a list by due date, for example, Wunderlist will change the order of tasks that have the same due date from how I had them arranged. I, too, therefore, must keep rearranging items in lists. Very inefficient.

I very much would like this with the ability for us to define our own priorities. I would define an InProgress priority which means I'm waiting on something but still want to see the item in my list.

I would like to be able to arrange things visually and numerically according to priority, especially in the Today pane. I think broad buckets of high, medium, low, etc does not quite get me all of the functionality I need -- I want to be able to arrange things in a simple order (1,2,3,4,5...) and visually in a list, as this is how the day actually works -- setting things up sequentially and then knocking them down one by one. I realize that one of the challenges of the today pane is that it has the project area categorization, and it would also need to be able to categorize by overarching work-stream prioritization -- perhaps there is a way to toggle between the overarching work-stream view and the project list view.

Prioritize all tasks with numbers 1-4 (so can see all priority 3's for all lists for example)
Incredible! It is more than three years that this has been asked for. And it is not even "under review". Most of the suggestions mentioned here (like different star banner colors and a possibility to sort by color) can't be difficult to implement. Hey Wunderkinder, do you READ these feature requests?
Yes, this would be very very helpful. Right now it can be done by reordering the lists within a day but that's not the same thing. thanks for considering this
Moreover, sorting and putting a star or any other type of priority should be shown only in your list, since in a group list one thing is important for one member, while for someone else from this group it's not important at all. So priority in a group list should be a personal thing

For anyone looking for a solution to creating your own Priorities, check out Wunderlist's #tag feature and see if it helps!
Personally I've started using #P1, #P2, etc for my priorities and to me it's helped a lot!

We need the ability to prioritize levels of importance and levels of urgency.
Important vs Not Important, Urgent vs Not Urgent
Steven's Covey uses a 2x2 Matrix / Priority Matrix
1 - Important and Urgent, red color, upper left part of the box
2 - Non Urgent but Important, orange/yellow color, upper right
3 - Urgent but not important,
4 - Non Urgent and Not Important
Ideally, I would like 3 to 5 levels of each importance and urgency. Three would be better than two!

The only reason I don't use Wunderlist is that I can't classify, put into order my daily tasks by my own. Every morning I need to classify "manually" the order of my task for the day.
Please do it in order that I can use your appli !
And I'm sure it will help a lot of users or future users...
I've checked wunderlist for this feature for a number of years now, but I will not start using it until a feature like this is added.

This is a wonderful feature where you can have a list similar to Franklin Covey's important vs. urgent list. That way one can prioritise and extract the true essence of a todo list and really get things done!
Yes, this is a major item missing from Wunderlist
Please add-on this feature!!
