Always show task detail view
I love the new feature of subtasks, thanks! but it would be great to have the option to always view the subtasks if the user wants rather than having to click on the task itself as subtasks might get lost that way
Yes, please! I was about to request this feature, but I see that it is already under review.
I would love to be able to click on an open/close icon on any task to show its subtasks indented just below the parent task. That would allow users to show the subtasks for some parent tasks by default while hiding others. Or, if it would be easier, to develop and release, even a single settings option that would show all subtasks nested underneath their respective parent tasks would be awesome.
I agree with other users' comments that making the sub-tasks more robust (due dates, etc) would also be lovely. But my primary request would be to be able to scroll down my master task list and see the sub-tasks for multiple parent tasks as I scroll.
Thank you for your time and consideration!

Yes, there should be an option to show subtasks on the main menu. Having to open the Detail View to manage/view subtasks was a turn off and made me reconsider using Wunderlist.

There should be a small progress bar in the main bar to show what percentage of subtasks are finished.
Maybe it's better to show a pictogram that a task has subtasks? But not having even this info is frustrating, yes.

I've got very wide monitor and it would be great to have detailed view always opened. If you make it also resizable it would be awesome!
It would also be amazing if completed subtasks could be minimized within the open reading pane. This would be useful when dealing with large volumes of subtasks in one task.
I definitely agree with Timothy, when constantly editing task the ability to 'lock on detailed view' would save me so much time.
In addition to this, the main task should not be able to be checked off unless the subtasks have been checked themselves. Or at least give a warning message.
a preference option "always show subtasks" would be very easy and would make the app perfect...
it is very annoying to keep double clicking the task each time to read its notes! gets frustrating very fast...
dont know how this can be implemented on mobile devices, but mac and pc is a no brainer...
Yes, but indent the subtasks under the main task.
So much wasted space on the computer!! Keep the details tab open at all times please.
On iPhone not a good idea but user can hide since the screem is limited
I agree with having the option of keeping the subtasks window open all the time. I use a PC, so there is no need for me to have all that extra space out to the right. I would prefer to have the detail in view all the time.
In addition, I have these suggestions:
Currently, subtasks perform simply as a list, nothing more. I propose that the notes section be used to create lists (like a grocery list), with an option to insert checkboxes so items on the list can be checked off (like Evernotes' checkboxes).
Then I propose that subtasks be made to function exactly like tasks. To put it simply, subtasks should just simply BE tasks. Tasks could be created either inside a list or underneath another task, but should have the ability to be moved anywhere desired (i.e. to be changed from a subtask to a task or vice-versa).
I really like the current view layout and don't propose changing how subtasks are viewed, just how they function. Obviously, some subtasks would have notes, reminders, etc., then I would propose double clicking on that subtask to see the notes window (either as a pop-up or a slide-over that disappears when moving on to another task/subtask).
At the very least, please make the current subtask format more flexible by allowing the user to rearrange the order of the subtasks or delete them if they wish (neither of which can be done currently, at least on my PC - extremely frustrating). Also allow the entire subtask list to be highlighted and copied or deleted at one time.
It would also be cool to make the regular task hit "enter" to make another task then hit "tab" to turn it into a subtask under the first task (Much like google task).
At first I was frustrated that I could not edit a task without opening the task details tab on the right.
After a while I got used to editing the task detail in the tab.
However, it's now frustrating the that tab closes whenever you click on a new list.
I also want to say that I LOVE the app! It's my favourite task manger by far. Thanks so much!!
I Agree 100%. I've just posted this exact same comment. Subtasks right now suck.
You should be able to view them on the same window ALL THE TIME! Also it would be nice to be able to add notes to each subtask.
I agree 100%! Was about to take the time to request this EXACT feature, but it's already here, so I 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and infiniteth this feature request!
A little 'pin' icon would be perfect to pin it open etc. I would really love to be able to keep it open
Agreed! Playing a bit with Wunderlist 2 the 3rd thing I was missing was the possibility to display subtasks.
Should be optional though - maybe a button to switch it on and off as needed.
