hide until near due date
Allow a task to be 'hidden' until it is within a given number of days of its due date. E.g., hide the "Get haircut" task that is due on April 22nd until 2 days before (April 20th).

Currently, if I have a blocker until a certain date, I remove those tasks from my list and then add an entry into my calendar to put those tasks back into my list. Very cumbersome and time-consuming. In IT job quite often use cases revolve around waiting a day or two for a large data copy to complete. Once cannot proceed with task until that data copy completes. It would be great to hide an entry for a day, or week, or until a particular point of time in the future.
Another 1-click option is a very simple "hide for 12 hours" button - that could be particularly useful for daily repeating tasks. Rather than tick it off as complete, tick the "hide for 12 hours" button to repeat tomorrow.

Yes, please! It's very disconcerting to see all these to-do's that I can't actually do yet. Thanks so much.

I would value this feature for repeating daily tasks as well. I have a list of 'morning tasks' to complete, and once completed, I'd much prefer them to be hidden until the next morning (to reappear at an appointed time the next day), rather than cluttering up my screen with the 'due tomorrow' message for the remainder of the day.

Yes, please! I have 6 repeating tasks each week, and I miss the satisfaction of having a completely checked-off list at the end of the week!
Would anyone from Wunderlist be able to comment on the likeliness of this be completed or timescales?
This is really affecting my use of the software I will need to be looking at alternatives if this is unlikely to be added.
A similar idea to improve GTD workflow, please vote:
Hide tasks with due date from "Inbox" and show them in new smart list "Scheduled"

I would really, really like this functionality: I'm trying to move to Wunderlist from Toodledo at the moment and this is a real pain point.

It's depressing that "Color Code lists and tasks" is the top feature request right now while this fundamentally absent feature lingers way down here in the 200s... I basically have no use for reminders without this.

This would be REALLY handy. I (like most people probably) have a recurring to-do like "Buy dog food" which repeats, but I don't want it on a to-do list until within, say, 3 days of the event. If it's due tomorrow, and I buy some, and cross it off the list, it appears again at the top of the list a month away.

Is what I want, somebody knows if this option will be available for the next update
This is a must have feature to de-cutter your lists and to help manage stuff that can be done now verses things that can't be done until later.
I'm looking to migrate from Things wanting better team collaboration and I can't believe Wunderlist doesn't have it.
I've also noticed quite a few feature requests on the forum that want practically the same feature, e.g. 'Hide Scheduled Tasks' (100 votes), 'Hide tasks' (51 votes), 'Hide future tasks (20 votes).
Sorry, I can't think about migrating until this feature is present. Life's complicated enough...
I'll also check out Toodledo, so thanks to everyone who mentioned it.

There are a remarkable number of todos that recur regularly, for example remembering to get cards or gifts for the birthdays of relatives/friends, writing your annual Christmas letter, bringing up your winter.or summer clothing from storage, changing the filter in the furnace, scheduling your annual physical checkup with the doctor, refilling medical prescriptions, writing end of month or quarter reports at work to name but a few. Instead of having your lists crowded with these recurring reminders, it would be nice to have the option of having them remain invisible until a period you designate before they are due, As an example, I would like to have medical prescription renewal reminders appear, say a week before the task is due, but I would like to designate birthday cards/gifts be given a two week lead time and my annual physical to reappear a month before it is due each your,.
As others have noted, Astrid had this feature and it was a nice way to streamline the clutter of seeing too many unnecessary items in your todo lists.
I agree with everyone here. Having my grocery list items be able to repeat on a weekly basis or monthly basis is wonderful but having them pop up immediately after I buy them this week is not helpful at all! I would like them to pop up again next Friday when it's Time to go shopping again.

A feature I really miss from Astrid
Things for Mac does this perfectly. I hate seeing "annual report for client" in my todo list all year long or "take trash cans to curb" all week long, when I don't want to or can't do that task until the due date. I think the only reason more people aren't asking for this is because they've never even thought of it....but it's something that would be useful for everyone.

agree with comment from John. Toodledo does this very powerfully. I've moved to that service since this is not available on wunderlist.

Not many to-do list managers seem to have this feature, and fewer get it right, so I think there's a competitive opportunity here.
Astrid did, though it only provided 4 options for show date -- due date, 1 day before due, 1 week before due, and specific date. The specific date option was only useful for non-repeating tasks, so for repeating tasks, the options were too restrictive.
Toodledo apparently does, and from their FAQ on it, it looks like it's implemented well (works for repeating tasks).
