When a list is sorted and a task date changes or a new task is added, I have to manually sort the list again. It would be nice if the new item would automatically get sorted as it is added.

Looks like this request has been in the queue since April 2013. I would very much like to see this feature added. I like the trick of numbering tasks to create priorities, but it's only remotely useful since I have to click on sort, then sort alphabetically every time I create a tasks. That's two extra clicks every time I create a task. Even a keyboard shortcut would be a good stopgap for people who have been waiting for 3 1/2 years.
I will add to the chorus of requests for the ability to auto-sort by the last selected option (by date in my case).
The ability to set the default sort order needs to be added for sure. Thanks!
I don't understand why this would be at all difficult to include in an update. I hope you will address it soon.
I find it ridiculous this isn't an option. For over two years this has been requested...PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN. My gosh.
Lack of this feature is causing me to consider other options.

Dear Wunderlist, this has been an ongoing and highly popular request for many years, it's what is holding me back from moving 100% and becoming a paid subscriber. I can't believe it is not a basic feature, so sort a to-do list by due date, seriously what are you guys thinking? How many users have to beg and plead you to do this, how out of touch do you want to be?
This should have been included by default. I can't remember ever having to-dos not sorted/ordered by due date, at least in some manner (perhaps categorized, then sorted by due date, but it's always one of the sort levels).
I think the best way to implement this would be to just make the sort selection "stick" per list, not across the entire account. That way, if you have certain lists you'd like alphabetical, while others by due date, and others by created date, they will stay that way as you move back and forth between lists.
Also, please make this sort apply to created tasks as well. If I have them sorted by due date, and I enter a task that is due next week, with 10 already in the list before then, when I hit "enter", it should drop in the list at number 11.

I would like to clarify that I have two sort related requests that might both fall under this task:
1) When I add an item to a To-Do list or "uncomplete" a completed item, it tends to sort to the top no matter what sort I last chose. I would like it to remember my last sort order and apply it accordingly. I realize this might be tough given that one can also sort manually, but perhaps Sort Manually should be a sort option in the sort order drop down so that the app then knows not to sort at all.
2) I would also like the app to sort the completed items as well as the incomplete items. My wife and I use the app for a grocery list and we just "uncomplete" items that we plan to get on our next trip as we realize that we want or need them. In this way, we also use the list as a reminder to look for things that do not always stand out but that we do not want to run out of (think tp :) ). So, it would be awesome for those items to sort in the same manner as the incomplete items.
This sorting issue is extra frustrating in that the app seems to remember how I wish to sort but it will not apply it to the existing items when additions are made. For instance, if I last sorted alphabetically descending, if I add an item, it throws it to the top of the list. If I then click sort and choose Sort Alphabetically, it does so but sorts ascending; I then have to select Sort Alphabetically again to get it sorted descending as it is a toggle-type selector. In other words, it knows I last clicked Sort Alphabetically but it just did not refresh the sort after adding the item.

Yes, I find this so frustrating adding new items to the list and having to press the sort button just to move the new item into the correct position in the list. This is a bug rather than a feature request so loathed to use a 'vote' to move it up the pecking order for future developments.
It should also be customisable by list. It should also have a sort order according to the remind date/time since some things you might put the reminder on minutes before or days in advance. The reminder date/time could also be used as the secondary sort choice since there might be many items that are due on a given day, however the next way to determine priority could be on the reminder date/time. It is so frustrating that this isn't included by default.
Every update to Wunderlist just seems to be the very disappointing 'big fixes'. Wunderlist used to be a member of the apps that innovate at the front of the queue like pCalc, Fantastical, Evernote, Pro Camera. You knew that if there was a big iOS update with new key features, you would be able to depend upon Wunderlist to update with the latest and greatest features the new iOS platform had. It doesn't seem this is the case any more since Microsoft bought them out.
I agree. This is an annoying flaw that could be easily fixed.

Especially when using the android widget (which is one of the main reasons I'm using Wunderlist - very simple yet effective), needing to click on a list item to open up the Wunderlist app and then re-select sort by date is two extra steps that make things much less convenient. +3 votes
Just SO required - surprised not included as standard..thought I'd missed a setting for auto sort (or keep preferred sort order) and spent ages looking for it to discover there is not one! Yikes...
I literally go list by list doing this every day after updating my due dates, EVERY SINGLE DAY! :(
I spend three hours typing lists only to have Wunderlist resort them out of sequence. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW F*&%$#CKING PISSED OFF I AM! What? You software geniuses can't keep a single list in order? I have to number them myself? That is so F*&&*CKING lame I can't believe it. Deleting this sh!t app and going back to google keep

Crazy having to resort lists. It should be automatic!!!

This is stupid!

If there is a work-around available for this, please explain it.
We've been asking for this for well over a year, and it's a pretty basic behavior of sorting. I'm finding it pretty frustrating, and I may consider looking for another list app if we don't get it soon.
