When a list is sorted and a task date changes or a new task is added, I have to manually sort the list again. It would be nice if the new item would automatically get sorted as it is added.
I don't understand how it's been over a year without a response to this matter. This is incredibly irritating for reoccurring task - I will accidentally complete the wrong one and will need to un-complete, delete repeat and THEN RE-SORT!!!!!
I've been using Wunderlist a year or two now and after trying to expand its usefulness for my day/week/monthly reoccurring task I come across this Horrible Annoyance. Please fix this soon!
Thanks! - I love the app otherwise! :)
This is a MUST HAVE. There has to be a way to set up a default sort function. Constantly re-sorting lists, especially shared ones, is becoming tiresome.

Yes! Why do my "settings" get trashed each time I add a new task?

I don't understand how this functionality was missed. It's so dumb to resort the list after adding a new task. Sorting is necessary, but is now irritating due to the effort it takes to sort a list.

YES! This is an essential function... it is beyond irritating to keep having to 're-sort' each of my lists when I add a task! Please include this in an update, Wunderlist!!!
Wunderlist is missing a KEY function. There is no way to set the sort default permanently, by date. With every new entry you must re-sort by due date. Key flaw that would make the product much more desirable.
This is one of the few basic functions that Wunderlist is missing! Please please please get on this. It's so annoying not having auto sort, plus it can hurt productivity because I don't always remember to resort things.
I like Wunderlist! But that you have to sort a list manually each time after adding a new task...?!?! PLEASE add this feature!!!
This is a needed option. I want them sorted by due date, everytime I add a task it resorts. Painful.
A few minor changes and this program will be great.
Just go into your settings, and set it to add to-dos to the bottom of the list.
This simple but important feature is way overdue. PLEASE implement ASAP
I would really like this feature to save a default for each list. For example, for my work, I want all my tasks to always sort by due date, but my shopping list is better suited for alphabetical order so I want that list to have a different default sort. Then there are some lists (like a comprehensive Job Task List) that I want to maintain a manual sort based on which task should go first. PLEASE give us this tool!!
I too requested this feature months ago. Does anyone actually read these requests??
How hard is it to implement an auto sort? 1 year later for an auto-sort , an auto-sort? You have got to be kidding!!!

Yes, yes, yes (please)! For me the lack of automatic sorting is my biggest irritation, and the main obstacle to me paying for Wunderlist. For defaults I would suggest:
1. Tasks with due dates - sort by the due date
2. Tasks without due dates - sort alphabetically
3. Apply the above to completed tasks also
(with the ability to be sort differently, or manually, as at present).
The lack of permanent sorting makes Wunderlist impractical for long reusable lists like grocery lists. I know the completed items are not listed randomly, but they may as well be if you've got no idea where to look if you want to un-tick something.
That's why I still use Google Tasks for my shopping list of over 250 items. The web app is poor and proper desktop apps are lacking (hence my need of Wunderlist for everything else), but there are good iOS and Android apps which have proper automatic sorting and sync with Google Tasks.
Examples - Google Tasks Organiser (Android) and gTasks (iOS) both allow permanent alphabetical sorting, both in active and completed tasks. If small developers of free apps can manage it, I'm sure Wunderlist can.

12 months later, I'd love to see this feature too!
PLEASE HURRY UP WITH THIS ONE!!!!!!

Wunderlist requires MANUAL re-sorting of a list after adding a task ? What a waste of time ! How do businesses put up with that ?
Please, please add this. It feels like a bug without it.
I think this silence is because the feature status is somewhere between 'not planned' and 'under review'. That's actually bad because lack of it makes the app less wunder and more like oldschool. Also thx for implementing emojis because it' s the Most Important Feature Ever. Ok, i' ve out of sarcasm now.
