Prioritize the Today list
Allow the users to prioritize the today list, regardless which list the tasks comes from.
So that you as a user, can start or end your day by planning your workflow throughout the day (or next day).
As it is now, I often have to make this list on a paper beside me. Wunderlist should be able to make this job for me.
At least make it so you can see a smart list of all your tasks for today (or this week), with tasks listed IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER BY DUE DATE/NOTIFICATION TIME. I need to be able to get an overview of my day's schedule and when each to-do is going to come up. I'd also like it to show which tasks are overdue or have had their notification pop up already.

I use the hashtag to order by priority within each of my lists, but the order is removed (even for each list's priorities) when I look at my "today" smart list. Adding this functionality would be great for jobs like mine, where one person has multiple roles, and therefore several task lists. As Andrew Frost points out, this can be accomplished with just enabling the "sort" function for smart lists. I would be satisfied even if it just kept the previous order that "List A" is sorted in when it merges into the smart list. (I can't find the thread referenced or I would apply my comment to that one).

Add to this 2026 votes for the same thing with a different heading:
Set order of tasks in Smart Lists-
Allow the user to drag and drop tasks into a specific order in a Smart List.

I agree. A,B,C & 1,2,3 are a definite need

I'm for A1, A2, B1, etc. I've used this since my "Franklin Planner" (now GTD) days, and it's a very effective way to prioritize. Hashtags are a good workaround, but better to have it built-in.

Anonymous. This is going to happen. Perhaps tenacity would have been a goal to strive for. Wunderlist continues to grow. Good luck..progress.
i am quiting wunderlist just because i cant prioritize today tasks.

I need prioritize by ordering To-dos in Today List. Todoist has and even the TickTick has too the ability manually sorting today list. I
whait for ... Wunderlist???
I can't use a list to-do without manually planning the day. The division of tasks on the "list" sucks.
Without priority list Wunderlist fails to full fill whats its meant to do. By the wsy does anyone from Wunderlist ever looks at these comments as there seems to be no feedback from thrm or comment.
This is similar to the priority option also recommended and voting should be combined for the two.
Great now Wunderlist has a better interface with Outook, but still no way to effectively prioritise your daily to do list. Love the app, but this is a glaring weakness that will cause people like me to ditch the app altogether?

You are losing regular business to other apps by not having a priority ranking system. This has been asked for over the past several years - is it a matter of showing us who's boss? Seriously, in any to do list program, priority is MOST important. 1-10, not star on, star off. Star on, star off helps when you have three tasks you are tracking, but is COMPLETELY worthless for 150 tasks.
Hashtag workaround is ridiculous for an app whose primary function is reminders. Seriously.
Agree... The on/off star is great. A priority box next to the star would do this. You can have the box change color or number when hit. The default would be no action. I am retired now and no longer need this feature, but in my working days it was essential! I would priortize the week and then adjust priorities as the week went on. Having this feature allows you to stay centered on the important matters.
Thank you Simon White for suggesting the hashtag A1, A2 etc. idea as that solves the problem.
Actually there is a better suggestion feature that is if they can sorting priority by dimmer color from Dark to Lighten color which is more easier to visualize than A,B,C,D...or 1,2,3,4....etc

Re: the previous comment - you can do this already with hashtags i.e. #A1 #A2 #A3 #B #C etc
Please add the A,B,C, 1,2,3 method of prioritizing. In this method you go through the list twice; once to allocate an A, B, or C to each of your items and a second time through your list to allocate a sequence (1,2,3…) within each of the priorities.
You can use this criteria for setting your A, B, or C priority:
A- Vital: These are items that are critically important to get done. There may be significant consequences for not completing these items on this day. These would be tasks that would cause you to stay late to finish. Be cautious of using the “A” priority too often as A priority tasks will keep you in the firefighter mode frequently.
B-Important: While these tasks are certainly important and should definitely get done, if they slip by a day or two there may not be a significant consequence. If you are able to get to your B priority tasks each day, chances are you are operating in a productive state.
C-Optional: These are the activities that are “nice to haves” or may be related to projects that have deadlines far off into the future.
I'm not sure how this is a feature request and not a bug. I just switched over from Nozbe after looking for something more user friendly and can't comprehend how a user wouldn't be able to rearrange task order for their day, week or starred items.
I'm not actually sure how people use Wunderlist while this bug exists.
