See the Assign a start date to a To-Do topic. Need I add this to more topics. I think not. While I appreciated what Wunderlist started out to do they have lost their way since being acquired by Microsoft. For what its worth I use other MS products every day and will never drink apple's coolaid!
PS, I have no interest in any of the applications I mentioned other than as a satisfied long term user. Toodledo has both free and paid subscriptions and you will almost certainly need to pay something but in my opinion it is worth paying for a product that does so much. Same is true for the apps but again only you can judge their worth.
I saved my recommendation for a second post in case it gets deleted. I recommend using toodledo as a cloud repository with Ultimate ToDo List on android and Task Angel on WIndows. There are many others but those both sync seamlessly with Toodledo. There are many other apps that also sync with Toodledo, You won't be disappointed.
I hate to say it but I think this illustrates Microsoft's biggest challenge. I long ago gave up on Wunderlist after m;y comment on this topic in May of 2016. I also loved my Nokia Windows phone until the opportunity was lost due to Microsoft's inept marketing through the carriers. There are a number of products on android, IOS, WIndows, Cloud, Mac even Linux that support the Start Date which among other things makes it possible to used Michael Linenbergers amazing methodology. My recommendation, move on to a mature product that undergoes continuous improvement and listens to its users/customers.
I recently saw Wunderlist on a "best of" list and yet it is missing the one feature that makes a todo list truly functional. As it is you are forced to find work arounds to distinguish things you want to do from thinks you must do and spend all your time reviewing your list and postponing things you cannot or need not focus on.
Yes it is pretty and yes it has some incredibly basic subtask support. Where is the functionality that will make this app a true contender? So disappointing to see that Microsoft's investment seems to only ensure it doesn't compete with Outlook or grow into something great.
I should have added that Google Tasks do not support Start Date. That is why they are mostly worthless and why serious users of mobile Task Apps don't use Google as their back end. This is yet another chance for Microsoft / Wunderlist to differentiate themselves from Google. Seize the opportunity or be left in the bit bucket of deleted apps.
Forget the votes and comments. ALL and I mean ALL the leading Competitors on Windows, Android and IOS already have this most basic feature! It is used by leading methodologies and supported by the back end databases they sync with, eg: Toodledo, Exchange.DeWayne supported this idea ·
Start Date is an essential element of Michael Linenberger's MYN and 1MTD methodology. http://www.michaellinenberger.com/
His methods blow away the traditional GTD based systems. Check it out and Wunderlist could become a new favorite for his followers on all platforms.
